I haven’t read a ya book about a child actor and I’m glad I finally picked one up. I love the level of love and support Monica’s family gives her with her dreams. They don’t discourage her is which is a great thing to read about as often times poc families can feel that art isn’t the best things to get into due to money. I’m glad her family doesn’t hold those views.
I also enjoy the other kids characters that round out the book and the description of how it is to be on Broadway and the stress, challenges and rewards that come with it.
