Beautiful. Bluebonnet book in verse written from 11 year old Tony and 6 year old Gabe's alternating viewpoints. One is a boy, the other a search-and-rescue dog. You can hear the distrust and hurt in Tony's voice as he learns to open himself up to his new life with his tio after his mother is imprisoned. A story of love and letting go in all of its gorgeous forms, this one is not to be missed. I'm so happy this year's Bluebonnet selections are of higher quality than in years past.
Highly recommended.
