A Fate Unknown by Sinclair Kelly

4.0

The prologue is intriguing. We get introduced to Knox, no last name. They don't specify or don't know who they are, where they are, and what they are, but everything is not as it seems. It is quite an intense jump into this book.

Wow, I didn't expect that. Fate, yes, that her name, is our ghost girl. She doesn't know the answers to the what, why, and how but is seriously funny in her monologue in the first chapter. Fascinating, the prologue guy comes into play at the beginging of this book. Hmm, I wonder where this will go and how.

So the readers get a few more clues about Knox if you are not up to date on all paranormal phenomena. He seems to be an empath, meaning he can sense others' feelings. We also get a more detailed look into some other abilities he has. Hmm, this team has an exciting story behind themselves and what they do. All men, of course, and all smoking hot in the descriptions. But they all have a unique ability. As they start to get answers, the level of weird goes up, .but still, this is fascinating.

I love that every chapter of this book tells the story from a different character's point of view. I mean, ghost girl plus five guys in one house, things are bound to be a bit nuts.
Cole is the leader of this ragtag group of paranormal hunters. Macklin is the tech guy, and he seems to do a deeper analysis of the ghost girl's actions. Knox, we already know, is the empath and has quite a connection with her. Thad and Levi, the twins, are so very different but easy on the eyes. They are trying to find out her story.

The more time she spends with them, the more she seems to be more human. She is forming emotions to almost touching to a voice. This book gets more strange and intriguing. This book gets very emotional as connections are established. Then this gets way more supernatural and mysterious as we find out she is a Queen of the Gateway. Of course, there is some risk for her and her remarkable men.

Things get steamy as they travel to the Gateway and fight for each other. I'm surprised it was on my with one of her delectable men and not all of them. But just as everything starts to become apparent, things get worse. The memories all finally come back, and they are devastating between the then and now.

I love this first book. It was enjoyable, original, and intriguing. I loved how confident, sassy, and dirty-minded Fate was in the book. I loved how the story twisted and turned, revealing a lot in one book. Fate is a true heroine. She is strong, powerful, and doesn't take crap from anyone. Her men are sexy as sin and angsty too. I love that they all have difficult gifts and personalities. Yes, this book is a reverse harem, but that wasn't the focus of the book, and it was expanded on besides some obvious feelings and conversations. This book goes from strange to even stranger as her story and past is revealed, but it was a fantastic read.
