This book wasn’t bad. I expected more going into it but after finishing it, I will say that it wasn’t bad. It wasn’t great either though. Like many others have said, it’s not your traditional haunted house story. Almost immediately, the ghosts become un-scary due to the nature of the book. I do wish that it was tagged as a dark comedy or that I had read more reviews saying such beforehand because if I had known that going in, I likely would have adjusted my expectations and enjoyed this much more. However, it did have fun spooky vibes perfect for September, the intro into spooky season. If you don’t go into this expecting to be horrified and scarred for life, then you’ll enjoy it. It’s almost as if someone turned a campy horror movie into a book which is great! Just not what I was expecting and not totally my cup of tea.
