I understand this book meant a lot to the author, however to me it seemed entirely unnecessary and forgettable. The whole grueling narration of a depressed, gross, directionless individual, is not exactly appealing to me. While I do understand and relate to depressions effects and feeling lost, this piece was flat and devoid of any emotion but what was previously described. The lack of any other emotion besides self-pitying, spiraling dread made for a disappointing read.
