I really loved The Ending Fire trilogy by the same author, but was disappointed by Faebound. The writing was clunky and even a little cringey at times. I felt like this story had "good bones" but missed the mark in terms of character development. I'll read the second, upcoming installment because I am familiar with the author, not because I liked this book.
