Murakami is a very talented writer and this was one of the most creative novels I have read in a very long time. It was similar to diving into a very bizarre dream or perhaps even a bad acid trip (as there were parts that included some extreme accounts of violence). While I enjoyed this book, I will not feel the need to read it a 2nd time as its effect will stay with me for a long time. And to think the premise of the story began with a man looking for his wife's lost cat....
