Don't Open Your Eyes: A Novel by Liv Constantine

mysterious tense medium-paced

3.0

SYNOPSIS
-Annabelle Reynolds seems to have it all: great marriage, sweet kids, a job she actually likes.
-But then she starts having intense dreams—nightmares, really—where her family is in danger and her whole life is off the rails.
-She brushes it off… until some of the details start happening in real life.
-One dream shows her daughter Scarlett in immediate danger. Annabelle has no idea who’s behind it or how to stop it.
-The big question becomes: can she change the future, or is she stuck on a path she can’t avoid?
MY THOUGHTS
-Told from three POVs: Annabelle, Scarlett, and a mysterious “wife.”
-The short chapters kept things moving, even when the plot got a little wild.
-You’ll need to fully suspend disbelief for this one. Big soap opera energy.
-The supernatural element didn’t really work for me. Wasn’t a fan.
-The writing was super straightforward. Not bad, just pretty basic.
-It was predictable. I saw most of the twists coming.
-Nothing stuck with me after finishing. Not bad, just… kind of forgettable.
TL;DR: ⭐️⭐️⭐️A fast-paced domestic thriller with some supernatural flair that leans hard into melodrama. Fun enough if you want something mindless and dramatic, but don’t expect anything deep or groundbreaking.
