Bloomsbury Girls by Natalie Jenner

This elegant historical fiction read was greatly enhanced by listening to the audio version. Juliet Stevenson narrates and does an exceptional job of bringing the stories and characters to life.

I picked this up because I loved the author's debut novel - The Jane Austen Society. For me, this book did not quite live up to that one, but I still found it delightful and immersive. I felt like a few of the relationships and storylines could have been fleshed out a little bit more, but I understand why the author handled things the way that she did. The switch between focusing on each of the ensemble cast of characters allows the author to give a wider view of the story, but does not allow the reader to get quite as deep with each character.
