Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant by Joel Golby

4.0

I really liked this essay collection. Golby writes like David Sedaris for this generation. While he's not graphic, you have to be able to be okay reading about porn in the abstract. After all, the author is in his early 30s, and he's a non-fiction essayist...

I enjoyed almost all of the essays. Some were heartbreaking, like the essay about his alcoholic father. Some were just odd, like the camel festival. Some were funny; actually most had threads of humor throughout.

I read this for the library reading challenge (repeated word in the title). I must say that I haven't been wowed by that many I've read purely for the challenge, but this is the exception.
