The Burning Shadow by Jennifer L. Armentrout

5.0

I feel like this is my favorite JLA book to date. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and the connection between Evie and Luc is palpable. Luc has come so far from the Lux series, when he was just a young sarcastic boy that knew everything. Now he is pretty much the same, but his layers are so deep and he carries so much on his shoulders you just feel like your heart might explode for him. He is so young and yet the people that look to him for guidance and support are innumerable. The one thing he will never waiver on is his love and loyalty to Evie. She is beginning to remember things from her past and honestly, this book took so many turns I wasn’t expecting that I just can’t figure out what is happening. The people that we lost in this book kind of devastated me, so I’m hoping that tapers off, but somehow I don’t think that will be the case. This series is quickly becoming my favorite and I hope it stays that way! Luc is such a complex character and I love him.
