The Golden Cockerel & Other Writings by Juan Rulfo

5.0

Juan Rulfo was a genius and this posthumous collection proves it. In other reviews I’ve mentioned that some writers have honed there craft so exquisitely that they develop what I like to think of as “style” and Rulfo’s work is brimming with it. Even in these unfinished fragments his prose and style are flawless. While this collection doesn’t quite match the cohesiveness of his other two works, this remains essential. If you are new to Rulfo, start with either of his others, but don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy more of his delectable style.
