acogna 's review for:
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
by Arthur Conan Doyle
adventurous
mysterious
medium-paced
Far better in terms of pacing and problem-solving than the standalone novels; Sherlock was made for the short story format. Some of these were boring and others really had me on the edge of my seat, but as a collection they all offer their own little mystery. Plus, they were fun! And fun, I think, is the point of Sherlock Holmes.
(Some favourites include: 'A Scandal in Bohemia,' 'The Boscombe Valley Mystery,' 'The Speckled Band,' 'The Beryl Coronet,' and 'The Copper Beeches.')
