rosejjordan 's review for:
The Chaos of Standing Still
by Jessica Brody
I read this book years ago, and am only now getting around to reviewing it. While the grief/loss arc was fast, looking back on it now, at the time I was a teenager struggling with all those same things and looking for something to speak to me, and this book did just that. I mean, it's a Young Adult book, and at that point in time I wasn't looking to read about how grief was long and painful and how it followed you, but I was more interested in seeing that someone else understood it and could recover from it; just like this book showed. Ryn's character and her survivors guilt was so real and not something talked about often in this genre. Overall, I thought it was great.
