Sharpe's Triumph: The Battle of Assaye, September 1803 by Bernard Cornwell

4.0

The second of the Sharpe books (if reading in chronological order) and this is where the man from the ranks earns his commission.

There are superb characters, tremendous battle descriptions and of course, the futility of war made ever present.

As enjoyable and engaging as ever Cornwell is a master of his craft.
