The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros

5.0

This one ticks all the boxes for readers of historical fiction, historical romance, contemporary romance, and just all kinds of romance and fiction.

I romanticize the 40s and love/relationships during WW2, and this book did too in the best ways. It was an epic love story that had me in full-blown panic at some points, crying at others, and shocked at one. Jameson and Scarlett were my favorite. I loved every single one of their chapters. They reminded me of my grandparents, and I've always envied their love. What Georgia went through was so relatable for me, and watching her grow reminded me of my own growth.

I haven't cried during a book this much in a while. The military aspect always gets me, but the love story and revelations shattered me. I finished feeling broken and whole at the same time. I can't recommend it enough.
