Notes on a Thesis by Tiphaine Riviere

The whole schtick of this story is that it’s self involved and frivolous to engage in long-term literary research with poorly paid overworked teaching gigs, loads of self-doubt and no clear career prospects at the end of the road- the end that keeps changing. So it’s done well and the art is funny and charming. But the self-involvement was too much for me, maybe because I remember, under different circumstances, being a super insecure twenty something trying to get it together.
