Glitch Girl! by Rainie Oet

J- felt like such a kid. Her world seemed too big for her, her emotions were difficult to process, and the best way for her to cope was through a fictional video game inspired by The Sims. I'm so grateful for the author showing kids that they don't have to be grown up to live their truth. Moreover, Oet skillfully employs metaphor, and their writing style allowed us to relate to J- even if our stories aren't the exact same. Such a good book overall; my only qualms are the pacing and how I think this book would have been better as prose instead of verse.
