The Department of Truth, Vol 1: The End of the World by James Tynion IV

3.0

The premise is good, but this is a butt ugly book. I use the phrase "butt ugly" because it feels very 90's, which is how this art feels.
It's like those issues of Sandman where a Dave McKean was doing his thing, and I guess some people love it, but I just can't get behind it.
Especially in this book where 90% of it is two people talking about something. I guess the book can afford to have a wilder art style, but I end up feeling like the frenetic art is almost trying to make something uninteresting, two people sitting and talking, into something interesting. Sort of like when you know a really boring person who drives a really outrageous car.
