Paperbacks from Hell: The Twisted History of '70s and '80s Horror Fiction by Grady Hendrix

5.0

Brilliantly written with just the right amount of humour and gorgeously illustrated with loads of photos of covers from the '70s - '80s heyday of pulp horror fiction, this book is essential reading for anyone with even a passing interest in the genre. If you're of a certain age *ahem*, it also serves as a great nostalgia trip to a time when no one really cared whether you could judge a book by its cover and taste was irrelevant. I immersed myself in the pages for three days, barely coming up for air. Thoroughly recommended.
