Nine Liars
by Maureen Johnson
David Eastman is kinda the scourge on this earth so I hope he gets some HEARTY comeuppance in the form of Stevie launching her foot into his face. I’m still Team David here, but his character development is truly regressing. Aside from that, I was a fan of the British setting however there were a lot of instances of Johnson just spewing details and facts about London/London history and it very much bogged down the writing. For the first time in this series, I felt the urge to skim passages.
One thing I LOVED about this book in particular was The Nine. What a fun cast of characters. Yes, they’re very toxic but I enjoyed reading their sections and I was actually looking forward to them compared to Stevie’s chapters.
