Hallowed
by Cynthia Hand
Hmmm...I'm debating between four stars or three. But I guess four because Cynthia Hand goes to some pretty extreme places in this book. Places that are practically unheard of in YA.
The main thing that bothered me in this book? Sometimes the prose gets a little hard to swallow.
And I can't believe I'm saying this, but I loved the love triangle in this book. I know. I'm in shock. But the way it plays out makes complete sense! It had a purpose (!) other than making teenage girls swoon with doses of double hotness. Why can't all book series be like this?!

People don't just GET INTO STANFORD. No matter how high their GPA is. Oh, and when you get college mail, you know by the envelope, you don't have to actually open the letter. I guess it was weird for me to see that Clara was so chill over the whole college thing (which shouldn't be surprising since she's got time to go to college), but it's hard for me to relate since I'm in the midst of freaking out about college. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but I loved the love triangle in this book.
