The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame

5.0

I tried to read this in third grade and stopped halfway through. I guess at that point I was more interested in magical detectives and faraway lands at the top of a tree that I wasn't too fascinated by the lives of animals. Now, I adore this book! It is hilarious seeing woodland creatures turned into gentlemen and reading the scrapes that Toad gets himself into. Not to mention that Kenneth Grahame is pretty much responsible for creating the entire genre of kid-friendly, anthropomorphized animals. Can't wait to read this to my kids one day!
