The advice in this book is excellent - the 5 S's are baby calming magic, and their technique is described well in these pages. That said, 'The Happiest Baby on the Block' is easily 200 pages too long. The useful information could be condensed down into a long-ish essay without losing any instructional value. Any valuable info in this book is repeated over and over and over again, and the rest of the pages are filled with unnecessary fluff. The writing style is too cutesy for my taste as well. It's an easily digestible and fast read, but there's no real reason for it to be book-length at all. Additionally, the many mentions of 'smart sleepers' peppered throughout feel like a subtle yet pervasive advertisement for the Snoo without ever mentioning it by name.
