Take What You Can Carry by Gian Sardar

I chose this book interested in a culture that I knew little about but the time in history matched my own years of early adult independence. I got so much more. The descriptions of places and people drew me in but the story of emotional turmoil through love, loss, futility, and compassion in true events beyond my imagination captured me and I couldn’t stop reading. I would not recommend it to some of my more sensitive friends but I enjoyed it immensely and would highly recommend it to those whom I think are strong enough not to look away.
