Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris

I'm not saying this book is a masterpiece - and it's extremely dated at this point (I mean, no one relies on a house phone these days) - but it was just so damn enjoyable and fun. And as someone who loved the TrueBlood show, it took me back to those feelings I had watching it for the first time (and so accurately portrayed at that!)

I'm on the hype train - will definitely continue with the series!

SpoilerThough the Rene twist was slightly more morbid than I remember. Was the necrophilia and incest part in the TV show? I don't think it was and that seemed a bit drastic to me. I definitely give props to the show for playing out Rene's character more because you didn't get to know him much from the book.
