The Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust Of World War II by Iris Chang

3.0

Powerful, But Open Ended

Makes me want to read another book where the soldiers who committed these atrocities are interviewed. The burning question I had reading this book is why? Chang attempts to answer this question in the epilogue, but it’s only speculation. How on earth can someone do these things and live with themselves? And yet, thousands of soldiers did.
