The Guest List by Lucy Foley

4.0

This was definitely a slow starter for me. It was told with multiple perspectives and multiple timelines which could have contributed to that initial confusion. It took me probably half of the book to connect to the characters and begin to become invested in their individual plights. I considered giving up, but I’d heard such great things about this book that I had to push through. And I’m glad I did. The second half was rife with perfectly tied ribbons of drama. Little details were threaded together and elegantly woven into the plot. I was definitely surprised by a couple of the reveals. I felt like I should have seen it coming, but Foley does a great job of setting up red herrings and misleading the reader. I also appreciated the ghostly vibes of the island. Overall, a really great fall read!
