This is NOT a rom-com, I know it kind of gives that impression and it does have some sweet romance but it has some heavier content and doesn’t have the lighthearted feel that a rom-com has. These sweet characters have been through the wringer, are going through the wringer, and it made for a very compelling story. ⁣

One of my biggest reading pet peeves is when characters don’t handle things in seemingly unrealistic ways, but it felt so believable here. Were the “correct” choices always made? Probably not, but they seemed like what real people in these situations might do and I really appreciate that in a book. There’s a plot point in THE TRAIL OF LOST HEARTS that won’t be for everybody 🤐 but it worked for me and really added to the story.⁣

🎧 I’m an audiobook girl, so no surprise I listened to the his one. And I can tell you the audio was fantastic, 2 thumbs up. ⁣
