The Unexpected Inheritance of Inspector Chopra
by Vaseem Khan
What a charming book!
This was just what I needed after some heavier reads. I have not read The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, but something about this book reminds me of Alexander McCall Smith's Scotland Street series.
Is this a deep read, a potential Pulitzer winner? No, but it is entertaining, and Khan's writing is descriptive without going overboard. He brings Mumbai to life for the reader.
This was an unexpected pleasure. I enjoy discovering new cozy type mystery series, especially one from a diverse author, creating diverse characters.
