Probably don’t read if you are currently an exhausted mother of young children.
I was cringing at some of Blythe’s decisions, but at the same time my sympathy was firmly with her. The lack of support and Blythe’s isolation as a stay at home mom made this story feel like something from the 70s or 80s but it was contemporary–we still hold mothers to impossible standards. There is one scene that contains a revelation at the end that is the most disturbing towards me. I have my thoughts on where the true evil lies.
The chapters are short and make for a fast read.
