The Running Grave
by Robert Galbraith
Horrifying, intense and beyond compelling, The Running Grave kept me up for more than one night. Like many readers, I’m here for the slow burning relationship between Robin and Strike. Their chemistry never disappoints, and I appreciated the developments (however slowly they came).
The cult at the core of this novel makes for disturbing reading, but I appreciated the relevance of the storyline with cults like NXIVM in the news not so long ago. As far as the mystery element, Rowling excels at pacing and the strewing of clues, ultimately delivering a satisfying if very unsettling reveal.
