Blasphemy by Tehmina Durrani

" I realized that the suppressed derived strength from suppressing others. It helped them to accept their own imprisonment and was an easy occupation for the trapped "

As every person in this world is a universe himself, every person deciphers a book differently, looks at things from different angles.

The story has been penned down in such a way that you feel a need to put the book down but can't, the pace is just perfect and the way how some details have been crafted makes it all more the appeasing...
Blasphemy, it is a book that gives you an insight to the most horrific faces behind the veils of piousness. A book comprising people's dark sides, their hunger, greed, selfishness, tyranny, mercilessness, lust, faith, and a lot of exploitation.

Based upon true story, a girl, a woman, who endured it all and also became part of the sins and atrocities committed to her and by her. A strong yet weak protagonist, just like us, caught up in a system that has enslaved many with its myths and legends. A system that makes them feel superior, through which they will derive the thing of their pleasure, the religious imposters who mislead the people of faith.

An unbelievable account of events that ironically remains true for our society.
Events that will shock you, make you feel disgusted with what lies inside us, the amount of filth and tyranny that a human being is capable of... It will make you question as a human being, of our existence, our goals, our freedom, our society and it's norms, along with our helplessness, our greed, our desires, our faith, our destiny, eventually our lives and what we believe in, but most importantly who we believe in.
A heart-wrenching series of events where a woman suffers the most.
A raw and bitter account which is still prevalent in our society, not for the faint hearted, and especially not for the people who turn their faces away from the grave realities of our society. An unputdownable book.

A must read if you want to finish a book in just one sitting!!
