Burial Rites by Hannah Kent

4.0

Burial Rites tells the true story of Agnes Magnusdottir, who was accused of murder, and was the last person in Iceland to be executed.

Burial Rites has two storylines: one is the preparation of her execution, and the other is what lead her to murdering Natan Ketilson.

If it was just the story of the preparation, I would have stopped reading, but I was so intrigued with the motives so I continued reading.

Hannah Kent writes so superbly, and I feel like i focused more on the writing than on the actual story, but there were some bits that i read without taking in any meaning which was a bit iffy for me, because I had to go back and re read the scene again.

It was a great read!
