you know when you pick up a book, so well-loved that you're absolutely sure you are going to love it. and then you dont and you finish the book thinking why haven't I fallen in love with you?
well, that was me, and I'm not even sure why I did not like it that much its just that it didn't quite reach the mark.
i did really like the characters.
blue
I really liked blue, she is really different and quite witty. she is quite observant and noticed a good amount and it was really cute how she would blush a lot around gansey. though she is now with adam we know that she will end up with gansey and i like that its a slow burn romance not something that just happens.
gansey
I don't really like gansey that much, but im interested in learning more about the gansey underneath the mask, the gansey that is passionate, witty, caring, a little crazy and is fated to die.(though i refuse to believe it and think that blue will find a loophole... maybe that will be her favour?)
ronan
ronan is by far one of my favourites, the sarcasm, the buzz cut, the anger all show a boy who cares very deeply and got hurt, definitely want to learn more about him his secret. also the scene when gansey is upside down on the bed and blue is talking to him (very cute btw) and ronan just enters and says " blue from that distance you could spit in his eye " is just hilarious.
adam
adam is such an interesting character who observes a great deal. his family problems are so sad and i was so happy that ronan beat up his dad and gansey tried to get him out...though hes determined to find his own way.though i don't exactly understand what happened to him, he's clearly alive but what happened?

the cutest thing in the world...kinda creepy though since he's dead.

i really like calla, she is hands down the funniest and grumpiest character in this book and i instantly liked her.
the things about this book that i did not like:
im not a huge fan of the writing style and i kind of feel that nothing much happened in the first half of this book.
as I said, we just didnt click
but I'm still planning to read the next one....
