After Sundown by Linda Jones, Linda Howard

4.0

Ben Jernigan left the military and wanted solitude. He moved into a house on a mountain in Tennessee. He learns that there is going to be a solar event that takes down the power grid around the world. Ben goes to town to pick up the few supplies he needs for what he believes will be a year or more. He warns Sela Gordon who owns a gas station and quick mart about the event. She heeds his warning and gets as prepared as she can. The event happens and Sela becomes the leader of the community who has to learn how to live without power. She's reluctant but good at organizing. She is out of her depth with the safety and security part of the work. She asks Ben for help. They've been attracted to each other but hesitant. This throws them together and each one gets past what has been holding them back. I enjoyed the story and the characters.
