I cannot say I hated this book but I surely couldn’t stand q Queenie. But by the end I did understand her struggle as an Afro-Caribbean woman. I also understood that she had trauma that was not addressed until age 26 when you have so many independent life decisions to make now you have to back track to find out how to cope with the trauma you shoved way down. I was glad she got therapy but I think the really shout out is to her friends because they stayed loyal faithful and there for her when I honestly don’t see me ever befriending her in the first place. She was just making bad decision after bad decision and I couldn’t take it anymore I almost gave up on her.
