The Dating Game by Jenny Proctor

hopeful inspiring lighthearted relaxing fast-paced

4.5

This book is amazing, it is quick, cute, and fun. I enjoyed the characters, for the most part.
I finished it in less than 2 hours and it made me start reading every night; something I haven't been able to do in years.

I recommend it immensely if you want to start reading more, and seem to not have time :)

I think the dog plotline could have been better. Going from an 'I'm frightened of dogs, I don't want to even stand close to small ones' to 'I can pet a German Shepard comfortably' with training/therapy seems impossible to me. I think this makes it feel more unrealistic: we never see her struggle or demonstrate much motivation to get over her fear.

This could be easily solved if instead of fear she just wasn't comfortable/used to being around dogs because she didn't grow up around them. Maybe not many people had pets and she was always so absorbed with her type-A life (which is mentioned in the novella) that she never even tried/thought about making connections with her friend's dogs.
