Deadly Secrets
by S.C. Fisher
The Daniels family is relocating again for the military. This move is a bit different because Dad is deployed. Paige, the oldest child does her best to step up and help her mom get the house in order. While doing so, Paige stumbles across a strange mask, among other items in the attic. Odd things continue to happen in the house, raising a red flag for the family.
I thought Deadly Secrets was intriguing. Watching the details slowly unfold to reveal what happened inside 33 Greyshott Close was thrilling. Paige seems to be the one that is really in tune to the spirit or spirits in the house. She starts to feel like she’s going crazy with the noises she’s hearing until Griff mentions hearing and seeing things, too. From here things only get worse for the family.
Paige was an enjoyable character for me. She’s a strong-willed, no-nonsense kind of girl. She stepped up throughout the story for her family, and by the end of the book Paige had enough with the haunting and tried to take matters into her own hands. I look forward to finding out what else happens to Paige and her family in the next book.
If you like stories about haunted houses, this one is worth checking out. There is a bit of a slow buildup to what is happening, but I didn’t feel it took away from the story, especially considering this is a series.
"If I'd have known then what I know now, I'd have grabbed my family, started running, and refused to stop."
