Fellowship Point by Alice Elliott Dark
3.0

I'd give it 3.5. This one is hard to review. There were times I loved Fellowship Point and times I wondered, "What's really HAPPENING in this story?" I can't say the plot is what kept me reading this nearly 600 page novel, but I do think it was the characters. I've read fiction where the characters aren't memorable enough or defined enough, and while the plot keeps moving, the characters driving the story are lacking. Recently having read a fiction where the characters were seriously lacking, and then reading this fiction where the characters are so well-developed I felt like I was walking alongside them; I've learned that good character development coupled with strong relationships between characters will keep me plugged into a book, even if I'm not loving the plot. In addition to the characters, I also loved the setting. You feel the peace of the landscape, even in the midst of the various conflicts throughout the story.

Overall, well-developed characters + welcoming setting + decent plot = an okay book that I'll happily keep reading, even if it doesn't receive a 4 or 5 star review in the end. I enjoyed this one, just didn't love it.
