tiffany mcdaniel is an elite storyteller. THIS is a true voice of a generation, a voice for women. i have never felt the existential dread of being a woman encapsulated so well in a story than when it came to the lives of arc and daffy and all of the women surrounding them. this is absolutely a story to make sure you read the trigger/content warnings prior to diving in. it was TOUGH at times. but it's nothing i haven't heard before or even thought of in the context of my own life and experience. it portrayed addiction and female love and friendship so well, i was absolutely astounded by this entire book. each of the women's story was so heartbreaking and i felt myself so invested in them as if they were real. that's something i think mcdaniel thrives in is making her characters come COMPLETELY alive. i adored this book and would highly recommend it (to specific people albeit).
