I love this book. The juxtaposition of the coziness and false sense of security of childhood and the lurking maliciousness in the background of it all is so expertly conveyed. I love the quirks of the town; the serpentine layout, the old woman and her sprinklers. I find the ending extremely sad (of course) and almost want to rate it down for that, but I think not being able to stomach it is what makes it so good.
Graphic: Animal cruelty, Animal death, Stalking, Car accident, Murder, Injury/Injury detail
