I listened to the audiobook, and so it may have affected my reading experience.
I found the beginning very slow. I had trouble keeping track of the character through the first 10% but once Inspector Pitt was introduced, I fell in love with the story and the characters. I found the mystery pretty secondary to the drama and romance, but it brings a great element to the story. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did and wanted it to continue, so I will likely continue the series.
