I didn't mind this book at all. I love the little hints we get of the other Savage U couples and how Julien and Sera fit into their circle. I also related to both of them a lot (I suffer from chronic pain like Julien, and I've had some mental health struggles that strained my relationship with my family like Sera. Was also a marching band nerd and I think we need to see more of it in romance novels in general).

I thought the stakes involving their fake dating were realistic without being corny or easily solved. However (and maybe this is because I took a while to read it), I felt like their transition from fake dating to real feelings was really underdeveloped. I would have liked to see more of the sort of internal struggle, because things felt a little rushed.

I also think there were a bit too many grumpy/sunshine metaphors (light/darkness/literal sunshine). It would have been so much better if it didn't spell it out for the reader.
