by Colleen Hoover
Genuinely one of the worst books I have ever read. I know it’s what I get for reading Colleen Hoover but let me explain why I picked it up. I’ve always been a reader but after elementary school and grade 7 I stopped but in grade 9/10 I decided to start reading again. OBVI I was influenced by booktok bc I THOUGHT (key word: thought) Ms Hoover was my fav author (HA NOT) anyways so i mass bought her books and then i grew out of this phase but i still had one book on my shelves that I hadn’t read. Let’s be frank her books… they’re super easy to read like you feel like a 6th grader reading them. Anyways I’m in a book slump and she usually gets me out of them bc like i said they’re easy so i fly through them and so here i am taking abt this book. Honestly what the actual fuck was this. A girl dies bc her boyfriend’s stalker ex decided to kill her then the BF decides to kill the ex. The GF survives and he’s like yk what let me take her to the place we first met. Lo and behold a ghost is haunting the place and starts possessing the gf. You wanna know what happens??? The BF falls in love with the ghost possessing his GF’s body which he lowkey raped bc he fucked the ghost while she was in the body of the GF. BUT GUESS WHAT. The GF is actually not the gf but rather the GF died and became a spirit trapped in the place she first met her BF and the spirit possessing the GF’s body is actually the spirit of the psycho ex of the BF. LIKE WHAT THE FUCK. I swear i started laughing at this book for how stupid it was. LIKE WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE WROTE THIS AND THOUGHT mmmhhh this is good. Also i would like to point out that this GF and BF genuinely think they are soul mates…. They’ve known each other for 8 months. Anyways the worst part of the book i believe is when they decided the bf and gf to re-kill the gf so that she could re take over her body. I - . Like you have got to be kidding. This is the worst tiktok book ever and seeing people saying its one of the greatest books they’ve ever read…. I feel sorry that you can’t leave the grade 6 level of books. Should’ve DNF-ed but i only figured out what was happening with 20 pages left of the book that’s how confusing and ridiculous this book was.
