For the second time, I’ve judged a book on its cover and was disappointed. This book did not catch me like in Lim’s previous works. I know part of that stems from the fact that this work was meant to be a standalone, but like most single-based novels, they’ve been too fast-paced and lacks any particular ground that draws me in (other than colored edges and pretty covers).
The romance in this book wasn’t enticing, nor Elang and any of the other supporting characters? Deaths of certain indiviuals didn’t move to me tears (or make me feel any particular way). Throughout, there would be references to characters we as the read don’t known (and will never know), or mood swings that made me raise a high brow. It wasn’t a horrible read, but not that enjoyable, either?
