The Night Listener by Armistead Maupin
3.0

It's kind of a weird story. The narrator starts off by explaining he tends to embroider the truth, "improving" it. He then claims that he won't on this story, but it do on becomes clear you can't believe him.

And then, the characters evade and straight up lie as well. So it's tough to tell what to believe. And that makes me less sure about what I feel. Is it a tragedy? An elaborate deception? A well made story? It feels less true than it ought, in the end.
