Easily one of the best books I've read. Joe Abercrombie has never disappointed me yet. I walked into this book with extremely lofty expectations, and every single one of them were exceeded. The new characters are fresh and exciting with great introduction and character growth in book 1. This novel did something that The Blade Itself did not do as well, in that the first book had a intriguing plotline that set up the characters and future books at the same. If you haven't read a Joe Abercrombie book, you should.
