If I Have to Be Haunted
by Miranda Sun
3.5✨
Overall, I did like this one. It made me nostalgic for a series I loved as teen: The Mediator by Meg Cabot. I loved the hate-to-love trope. The overall concept was really solid. And the adventure engaging and worthwhile.
That said, I did have my nitpicks.
The rest I'll place under spoilers.
Lastly. I like this book as it stands on its own...which is why the epilogue confused me greatly. The story felt complete (minus some loose threads, which I now see where purposely left untied...), I was satisfied. I don't see how this can go beyond one book. So I must admit I have no interest in a sequel, I'm content in believing this is beginning, middle, and end.

Firstly, although they are rivals, I did not like how cold and callous Cara was upon finding Zach was dead /a ghost. Just struck me odd. I also became frustrated how obvious their mutual attraction was and how the miscommunication lated until the very end. That said-- I did really love when they finally admitted it! The ending was very wholesome!Lastly. I like this book as it stands on its own...which is why the epilogue confused me greatly.
