His & Hers by Alice Feeney
2.75
dark mysterious tense fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Why was the ending lowkey wack af. I’ll state now that there were multiple characters I suspected of being the killer and so the big reveal/twist wasn’t very surprising to me.

Ranking who I wished was the killer in order of how much more I would’ve enjoyed this book: first is Cat Jones. After finding out the backstory of how she got bullied by all those girls and the way dumbass Anna was a bystander, she deserved to have killed all those girls and I wish she had gotten Anna’s ass in the end too. I don’t care how the book ended, I was rooting for her no matter what.

Second, Anna. Anna was lowkey a cunt and her and Jack do not deserve to get back together in the end. Anna being the killer would’ve been fine, nothing crazy and nothing special, and I have nothing to say about her except that I did not care about her sob story.

Worst ending was the mom being the killer. The monologue reveal was plain and had no impact while also being farfetched. But what irritated me the most was her killing Cat when that girl got done the dirtiest.

Also have to point out the sexual assault as a plot device/shock factor? Not sure how exactly I feel about that but I know I don’t love it.
